Portfolio International and Disney have completed an extensive multi-territory acquisition agreement that will bring 'The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!' into 40 territories on Playhouse Disney channels. The announcement was made by Lisa Olfman and Joy Rosen, Founders and Co-Presidents, Portfolio Entertainment.
Season one of the 40-episode, half-hour series will be seen on Playhouse Disney channels in Australia and New Zealand (all Australasian countries and islands), India and neighboring countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Seychelles and Sri Lanka), Italy (Capodistria, Malta, Monte Carlo, San Marino, Vatican City, and Italian-speaking Switzerland), South East Asia (Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Republic of Palau, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam).
“We are delighted that 'The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!' will be seen on one of the world’s most respected family entertainment channels,” says Joy Rosen, Co-President & Co-Founder of Portfolio Entertainment.
Voiced by award-winning actor Martin Short, Dr. Seuss’s the Cat in the Hat guides two six-year olds, best friends and next door neighbors, Sally and Nick, on a magical journey - with a little help from the Fish, Thing 1 and Thing 2. Through fun-filled adventures they make natural-science discoveries, from how bees make honey to why owls sleep during the day. Filled with both adventure and silliness, the series will appeal to preschoolers’ natural curiosity and engage them in the process of scientific exploration and discovery.
Produced by Portfolio Entertainment Inc. and Collingwood O’Hare Productions, in association with Dr. Seuss Enterprises, Random House Children’s Entertainment, Treehouse and PBS Kids, the 'The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!' is based on Random House’s best-selling Beginner Book collection, “The Cat in the Hat’s Learning Library.”
