This year, MIPTV (4-7 April), one of the biggest global annual content markets for TV held in Cannes, includes the Asian Animation Screenings that are scheduled for Wednesday 6th April, 2011 at Auditorium K, Level 4 at the Palais Des Festivals.
The Asian Animation Screening will feature the most talented and innovative animation content from various Asian countries. This session is about showcasing six Animation Programs from Japan, China, Malaysia, Korea and India and will give a short analysis of each program.
Talking about the Malaysian Screenings to Animation Xpress Asia Pacific, Adam Ham, Executive Director of GCMA, “As the Malaysian Government has announced plans to implement a singular digital content industry strategy in the objective of accelerating the entertainment & media industry under Malaysia’s Economic Transformation Program (ETP), GCMA is working closely to align all marketing campaigns and strategies to facilitate and nurture Malaysia’s creative content and application industry, namely content creation, services, and distribution & broadcasting sectors, which will eventually transform Malaysia into a regional hub for digital content. Together with the Malaysian Government namely FINAS, SKMM, MATRADE and MDeC and the dedicated industry players, GCMA will be committed and poised to the challenge to lead “Creative Malaysia” to the prominent markets in the world to showcase Malaysia’s capacity and capability to create original, locally produced content and develop competency in content-related services to the regional market.

Bola Kampung
Company: Animasia Studio Sdn Bhd & Susunan Kreatif Sdn Bhd Producer: Adnan Mansor, Edmund Chan & Raye Lee Targeted Age: 5 to 12 Project Synopsis: Set in a village called Kampung Gong Lechar, the story revolves around a group of adolescent who have great passions towards football. However, they only play it for the sake of fun. Not until the Principal Daud and the newly appointed coach, Abdul Rahman decided to form a football team representing their school in the inter school competition. Iwan, the main protagonist who adores Zinedane Zidane so much leads the team in its struggles to become the best in the district. Alas, his dream is against by his father, Azman who doesn't want Iwan to suffer the same fate as him. Azman was once a national player who suffered a tragic fate that tarnished his football career. With the support of his two best friends, Azizul and Sabok, Iwan manage to steer aside the problems and emerges as the backbone of the team.

Chuck, who runs the company with his two friends, Flick and Wing. They provide Kung Fu style security to the citizens of Rocky Perch and their valuables, as they travel across the island. Chuck also inherited a very special talisman in the shape of a golden egg, an object that bestows amazing powers on whomever possesses it, and turns Chuck into Kung Fu Chicken. Unfortunately for Chuck, the talisman doesn’t come with any instructions, so he doesn’t know how to properly control his new abilities.

As Boo learns how not to waste food, water or electricity, all three of them discover more ways to love and protect nature. They know that the littlest things they do can have a big impact.
