The MSC Malaysia IP Creators Challenge series returns with over RM 1 Mil up for grabs
The local content development scene which is continuing to grow at a rapid pace, is set to accelerate even faster as the MSC Malaysia Intellectual Property Creators Challenge (MSC Malaysia IPCC) Series 2010 is back for its fifth consecutive year.
With prizes of RM 1,000,000 in grants up for grabs, the annual competition is one of the anticipated events on the local content development calendar. Winners receive, in addition to their grants, access to development facilities in Cyberjaya; unlimited access to MSC Malaysia Animation & Creative Content Centre (MaC3) facilities; and mentorship from some of the best and moat talented individuals and organizations in the country.
"The MSC Malaysia Intellectual Property Creators Challenge offers winners the opportunity to showcase their creation and to commercialise their works on an international level. This is very important as it is rare in a market that is crowded and very competitive - through this initiative and MDeC's reach and ability we are able to take Malaysian content creators and help them move to the next level," said Ms Ng Wan Peng, Chief Operating Officer of the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC).
Organized by MDeC, the annual event is one of the jewels among Malaysia's "content -entreprenuership" (contentpreneurship) development programmes. Till date, it has seen several Malaysian content creators and organizations moving to the international content creation scene and has been "Creating Content for the World" in broadcast and animation through the grants, guidance and content matching that the IPCC provides participants.
This year, the creative competition continues to feature four exciting categories. These are Animation Competition; Computer Casual Games Competition; Digital Interactive Comic Competition and Mobile Games Competition.
Prizes for the categories are:

A series of workshops will also be scheduled to help budding participants to gain a better understanding of the requirements needed to turn their ideas into reality within the allocated budget. These workshops will help participants come up with strong proposals for the eventual pitch and provide insights of the real creative industry.
Among the workshop topics are:
