X Media Lab and the Al Jazeera announce Internship Programme

XML and Al Jazeera have recently announced their internship programme for graduate students, post graduate students and professionals to work with one of the world's most revered news and digital media organisations. The internship will be for three months in Al Jazeera's headquarters in Doha, Qatar. Accommodation will be provided for three months, Interns will need to cover the cost of their own airfares/transportation, as well as food, on-ground costs etc.

Selected interns will have the opportunity to work with Al Jazeera's new media team and journalists across one of the following categories:

Mobile applications & services

Social Media applications & services

Web applications & services

Internship Opportunities Available:

Interns will be contributing to one or more of the following disciplines within their selected category.

Research and Reporting
Future mapping

Creative Ideas

There is no specific *start* or *end* date for each Internship - these dates will be discussed between Al Jazeera and the successful applicants.

What is Al Jazeera Looking For?

Interns need to be highly motivated and passionate about digital and interactive media, as well as working with a news company. You need cross-cultural awareness, you need to be hungry to both learn and contribute. And to be a great learner - you need to be a great listener.

You need experience or a degree in digital media/computer science/design etc with mobile, web or social media expertise and to be ready to apply yourself to contributing in either: Development & Design; R&D, Research and Reporting; Future Mapping or Creative Ideas.
