Cartoon Network HD Launches in U.K. on Sky

Turner Broadcasting has announced it will launch a high definition simulcast of Cartoon Network on Sky. Cartoon Network HD is set to go live on 14th September and is the first HD channel in the UK from the broadcaster behind leading commercial kids‘ brands Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Cartoonito and CN Too.

Cartoon Network HD launches in the run up to the channel celebrating its 18th birthday on 17th September. From this September, viewers will be able to see Cartoon Network‘s array of popular shows in full high definition, including Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Regular Show, Adventure Time and Star Wars: the Clone Wars.

Also available to watch in HD will be The Amazing World of Gumball, an animated sitcom which follows the hilarious misadventures of the Wattersons, a regular family in the irregular town of Elmore. The UK-produced series uses a unique combination of 2D and 3D animation with live-action backgrounds and will debut on Cartoon Network on 5th September.
More new shows debuting as part of Cartoon Network‘s strong September slate include an all-new re-imagined version of the much-loved 80s series Thundercats, and new action-adventure series including Transformers Prime, Battle Force 5 and Bakugan Gundalian Invaders.
