Autodesk, a leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment software is collaborating with Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) as the technology partner for its new Games Solution Centre. The Centre is a one-stop resource that provides rapid game prototyping and development resources including access to Autodesk Gameware in order to help Singapore-based game developers accelerate the commercialization of their games.
Mr. Thomas Lim, Director of Interactive Media, Games and Publishing, MDA, said, “Industry and government collaboration has always been key to growing the media sector in Singapore. We are pleased to have the strong support of Autodesk at the Games Solution Centre. Access to Autodesk’s Gameware and suites can potentially benefit more than 500 game developers over the next three years. This is a boost to budding independent developers.”
Mr. V. R. Srivatsan, ASEAN Managing Director at Autodesk, said, “We are honored that the MDA has selected Autodesk’s Digital Entertainment Creation software and Gameware for its Games Solution Centre. For over two decades, leading game developers have relied on Autodesk technology. Access to Autodesk’s industry standard game technology through the Games Solution Centre will help more Singapore-based companies compete on a global scale, whether they are creating casual or console games.”
Autodesk Entertainment Creation Suites and Gameware will be used by game developers in the Centre to storyboard, prototype and build their games. This includes game art creation, animation, and bringing assets into runtime environments where games come to life with artificial intelligence, interactive menus, and realistic lighting. Autodesk will also provide installation assistance, product training, and access to its global games ecosystem. Autodesk Professional Certification will be offered to qualified game developers participating in the Centre.
