POSTAM presents 3D Stereoscopic Seminar in Kuala Lumpur
After Avatar, Stereoscopic has surely become the industry buzzword. The Association of Post Production and Animation Companies Malaysia (POSTAM) is all set to conduct 3D Stereoscopic seminar in Kuala Lumpur on 8th July 2010 at the MATRADE Exhibition & Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
Craig Tanner, Avatar Stereoscopic 3D and Visual Effects Specialist and Gina Light Tanner, Stereoscopic 3D Filmmaker will be conducting the one day event. Craig and Gina are responsible for the stunning Stereoscopic 3D live action capture, post production and stereoscopic visual effects on Avatar.
Talking to Animation Xpress Asia Pacific about the event, Yoki Chin, Vice President, POSTAM shared "The reason of doing this event is because it's the first Stereoscopic 3D Seminar ever to be held in Malaysia and that we would like to bring and introduce the latest technology to the creative content industry. The entire Malaysian creative content industry would be present at the seminar including the government agencies like Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA), Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), National Film Development Crop of Malaysia (FINAS), National Film of Malaysia (FNM). Come major academies in Malaysia and players of visual effects specialists, animators, film & tv makers, games content designers, mobile contents creators, IT specialists & creative content specialist would also be attending the event.
He further continued, "The Malaysian Government have given their full supports and contributions financially and morally to make this seminar a success. We have been working hand-in hand. With the support and encouragement from the Government bodies, we have managed to speed up certain preparation works that might required longer time frame. Thanks to the kind consideration and assistance of the authorized personnel.

Oscar nominated and Emmy winning editor/producer, Craig Tanner (co-founder of Digital Revolution Studios) is one of the world leaders in stereoscopic production and post production process. He has extensive knowledge of the s3D workflow, ranging from the creation of custom S3D live action, s3D animation and 3D motion capture technology. Craig proudly displays an Emmy for his editing of the Oscar nominated and multiple award winning documentary, GOD SLEEPS IN RWANDA
Gina Light Tannes, CEO and Co-founder of both Digital Revolution studios and Digital Revolution Studios International complements the technical side of DRS by providing the business side of the team. Gina has produced an independent feature length s3D film, as well as produced various s3D media.
She has been a guest speaker in s3D seminars and workshops, both domestically and internationally. With the help of her talented team, Gina puts together workshops and seminars for s3D production and post production clients, as well as training programs for becoming DRS certified in stereoscopic techniques.
