The delegation of 12 Singapore companies at MIPCOM 2010 seek not only to showcase their content, but also to find partners for the future.

"At MIPCOM, we look forward to forging greater ties and forming collaborations with other international counterparts to further opportunities," said Dr Christopher Chia, Chief Executive Officer, Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA).

Indeed, the ties were not slow in forming. At MIPCOM, Australian Emmy Award-winning children’s entertainment company SLR Productions announced that it would co-produce a 52-part preschool animated series, Guess How Much I Love You – The Adventures of Little Nutbrown Hare, with Singapore’s Scrawl Studios and MDA.

Based on the bestselling classic book of the same name, the series will relate the adventures of the Nutbrown Hares and their friends. It will be the first animated television series to be co-produced under the Australia-Singapore Co-production Agreement.

"We are extremely pleased to partner with SLR to bring these lovely books to the small screen," said Mr Seng Choon Meng, Chief Executive Officer, Scrawl Studios. "SLR is renowned for its children's programmes and we are confident it will be a successful collaboration that will yield a refreshing series to delight preschool kids and their parents alike."

Also announced was a Singapore-Canada co-production between Nelvana Enterprises and Singapore firm Infinite Frameworks. The companies will work together on a new 26-part CG-animated series, Franklin and Friends, based on the well-established character, Franklin the Turtle. Aimed at children between four and seven, Franklin and Friends will be available in 2011.
